‘Delightful… full of heart, humour and love.’ Cinerama

This vibrant and inventive father-daughter comedy follows Georgie, a resourceful 12-year-old girl who secretly lives alone in a London flat, following the death of her mother. She makes money stealing bikes with her best friend Ali and keeps the social workers off her back by pretending to live with an uncle. Suddenly, her estranged father Jason turns up and forces her to confront reality. Uninterested in this sudden new parental figure, Georgie is stubbornly resistant to his efforts.

Written and directed by Charlotte Regan the film is a dreamy, witty and unmissable tale of family and fresh starts. As they adjust to their new circumstances, Georgie and Jason find that they both still have a lot of growing up to do. It brims with energy ideas and colour. Georgie played by Lola Campbell is a revelation. This is her first movie role, and her performance is flawless. She shows that life is not so much about chasing rainbows, rather snatching fistfuls in both hands! (1hr 24 mins)

‘A towering achievement. ‘Empire
